What difference with Botox ®?
The only common point is that Botox ® (botulinum toxin) and hyaluronic acid is used to treat wrinkles on the face. But their action is very different. Hyaluronic acid is used in filling wrinkles, then the toxin is used botolinique "paralyzing" artificial muscles of expression in the forehead or other parts of the face. The effect of botulinum toxin is also temporary and further injections are needed. Inconvenience and side effects Redness and slight swelling, bruising can occur in some people, the injection sites. Small "balls" (granulomas) where hyaluronic acid was injected, may also appear. They should be gradually after several weeks. The occurrence of these side effects depends in part on the know-how and experience of the practitioner. Irritation may persist until a few hours a few days after the injections. But beware, these rashes may be an allergy. In this case, it is better to re-visit the doctor.
Duration of effect and price of treatment
The results of injections are almost immediately visible while remaining fairly discreet. The effects last between six and twelve months depending on age, the quality of the skin, lifestyle, and the type of hyaluronic acid used (more or less "thick"). Proportional to the amount of product used, the price of treatment varies between 150 and 800 euros.Count about 250 euros for the lips, 600 for cheekbones, for example. In the vast majority of cases, this treatment is not reimbursed by health insurance.
Our advice:
> Beyond 300 euros, an estimate should be drafted. And the doctor should you leave a minimum period of 15 days before you decide permanently.
> Choose an experienced doctor. And at the time of treatment, the products must be opened before you.
