The causes of bad breath

* Usually, bad breath is caused by sulfur compounds produced by bacteria that break down food leftovers that are in the mouth.
* Most people have a lot of bacteria in their mouths, and they have even more if they have plaque because they have not cleaned their teeth. These bacteria do not usually cause infections or diseases.
* Bacteria can also form a coated white, gray or yellowish on the language of some people.
* The infection of the gums (gingivitis), tonsils, sinuses and nose still mean more bacteria are present to cause the bad smell.
* When our mouth is very dry, there is less saliva to eliminate bacteria.
* Those who follow an extreme regime (such as those that follow a very rich in protein or suffering from anorexia nervosa) usually have bad breath. Most people who follow some of the popular diets low in carbohydrates and high in protein have bad breath.
* Some foods such as garlic, onions and curry temporarily alter breath.
* Smokers have an unpleasant breath.
* Others who need to breathe through your mouth most of the time (perhaps because of a sinus infection) have dry mouth and may have bad breath.
* Some drugs can cause bad breath.
* Some health problems such as diseases of the liver, kidneys, lungs and diabetes can change the smell of breath.
The signs of bad breath
* It is not really possible to feel your own breath, so you must pay attention to what people say about your breath.
* Some people say they have unpleasant metallic taste in the mouth when they have bad breath. Some people with bad breath have a white or grayish coating on the tongue. This coating does not cause bad breath at all. Remember that most people have bad breath rising in the morning, do not you worry. A glass of water will help to clean your mouth.
